Der Gondelfahrer – Schubert, arr. Richard Spencer, Version with Piano

Der Gondelfahrer is a Chorus for men’s voices transcribed for Flute, Clarinet, Viola, Cello and Piano.  The poem invokes the bell sounding from the tower of St. Mark’s, Venice. Schubert’s choruses are sadly neglected, and it seemed appropriate to resurrect one that has achieved a certain fame in a new form.

There is another version of the same song for strings and woodwind without piano.

Difficulty: Moderate
